Question by Edge of Reason: Would a diagnosis of Bipolar Type 2 stop someone immigrating to USA?
And one hospitalization for one week?
Can you not declare it, as the hospitals said it’s confidential and on your medical records?

She is in art class at school and the teacher gives the students an assignment to draw a picture using only their favorite color. This girl’s favorite color is red. So she takes a small blade and slices the inside of her palm and presses her bloody hand to her heart. Based on that scenario would that be a symptom of bipolar disorder?

And, now why is it no longer considered trauma related? Why is everyone stating that it is hereditary?

That appears like it would be more detrimental to the individuals who actually really do want to receive treatment. How come people who work in mental health do not make more effort to become familiar with the DSM?
Dissociative Identitiy Disorder
Dissociation is a mental process in which there is a lack of connection in thoughts, memories, feelings, actions or identity. While dissociating, certain information is not associated with other information as it normally would be. Some believe that dissociation exists on a continuum ranging from daydreaming to Dissociative Identity Disorder at the other. However there is great overlap between the different dissociative disorders (DD), including DID.

Well, the only problem is when the parents blame the child. When really the parent is the one with the problems.

I know a lot of people won’t get into serious relationships with people with bipolar disorder because bipolar people tend to cause friction in relationships and aren’t very stable. But if you met a guy/girl who was bipolar and fell in like/love with them then found out they were bipolar, would you stay by their side or look for someone more stable?

I am not bipolar. I do not need warnings about talking to my doctor, or anything like that. I am writing a short story and just want to know how quickly someone who stopped taking their medication would feel the effects of that.

Where would I find a Bipolar supporter?

I have been diagnosed Bipolar for 21yrs. I have tried several different treatments and meds w/o success in finding the exact one that is appropriate for me. I would like to find someone who is educated in this diagnosis for email support.

Where would I find such a person willing to share?

I believe I have been misdiagnosed and want to stop my meds.

so if you’re taking to different kinds of pills, (not exactly sure what, but just two of the general ones for treating it) how much would the cost be per day, week, month, year? and if you have to go to therapy every week how much would that be per hour/week if you went for one hour?

Thanks everyone for all the Answers..I have a friend that was diagnosed & being treated so I’m ready to take the next Step..God Bless you all this is difficult..
