Is Trileptal used for bipolar treatment?

this med says it’s for epilepsy but was perscribed when patient said he felt he was in a depressed slump.

I think Bipolar people have memory loss because of treatment side-effects, and also I think if they are on a manic episode, they will forget what they did? correct? How much of a chunk of your memory will you forget?

what is the best treatment for bipolar disorder?

I am 27 yo suffering of bipolar disorder since I was a teenager. I think the pills I take (seroquel and serlift) are still not good enough.

I have spoken to a doctor…I just want other feedback.
Has anyone out there felt uncomfortable after being treated for bipolar disorder? Like being depressed was getting to be the “normal you” before treatment, and now that you’re being treated you don’t feel like “yourself”. I don’t want to go back to depression, but I noticed this feeling. Anyone out there have anything like this?

I was diagnosed as bipolar last year but couldn’t tolerate any of the meds. I’m on an antidepressant now, but am still having some pretty severe mood swings. Are there any bipolar meds that don’t have very severe side effects?

I’m mostly interested in responses from people who have personally experienced a positive response to treatment. Everyone who knows someone with bipolar or who experiences it themselves knows that the “low” cycle of bipolar can be literally a killer, and many will not take medications because of some of the nasty side effects they have. Which, if any, of the current medications or other treatments have provided you or your loved one with measureable relief with the least negative side effects?

I am currently being treated for having Bipolar type 1. I have not told anyone but I also think I may be anorexic and have a drug dependency problem. Although I’ve never told, I’m pretty sure other suspect. Is there a place I can get treatment for all 3 things at once?
