Ok i started taking a bipolar medication a while back and ever since then i’ve been yawning all the time, even when i get plenty of sleep and i’m not even tired. Is there anything i can do to stop yawning so much? Or is there any medication i can take for it?

For the past several months, I have been getting drunk just about every day. I finally started going to AA, and I haven’t had a drink in three days.

Now, I’m hypomanic. (I have bipolar disorder, II.) I used to need alcohol to sleep, so I haven’t been sleeping a lot. Can stopping alcohol cause mania?

Is there and safe wholestic vitimans for bipolar?

I was just wondering if you guys know ofd any safe wholestice vitimens that I can take in addition to my lythum and atvn i take for my bipolar I am type 1 bipolar.I do relize that some whoestic solutions could accuaslly interfier with my perscribed meds and accually cause me harm just wondering your opions on this. only serious answers no buttholes answering just to get 2 points thank you
Alex62 your assumeing that i am depressed and i am NOT depressed at all in fact I am accually manic.
Bk you are 100% wrong there are vitimans that can not be take with perscribed meds a good example is st johns wart you can not take that with a lot or depression medication most medical doctors willl tell you that this would cause a very bad reaction if done

I was diagnosted in 2006 with bipolar type 2. ( I suffer more from deppression than mania…and my manias aren’t extreme, they are hypomanias…)

Doctors have tried SO MANY medication on me, I feel like a lab rat!

Either the meds made no improvement on me, or the side effects were to strong/or dangerous for me to continue them.

I’ve been on Epival (valporic acid) since january and I also take clonazepam before bed for my anxiety.

Things were looking good, then about a month ago, it’s like my meds stopped working!?

I’m affraid of trying a new combination of meds (cause some have made me suicidal and violent) and I’m to a point where I’m wondering: Will the doctors ever find meds to help me??What if they can’t!?

Most medication make me feel “drugged up” and I can’t stay awake!

I can’t afford to live this way cause I’m a single mom.( I can assure you all that I never harmed my child…my parents are involved daily in our lives and can attest to that…and my anger and violence is towards me…)

I am unable to work because of my bipolar (plus I have physical probelms such as endometriosis, polycystic ovarian disease and chronic lower back pain…) * And I’m only 31 yrs old!! :S *

Everytime I feel like I’ve finaly found a solution to help me live with my illeness,it fades away…

I do my part by going to theraphy regularly… and I voluntarely went to two 7 weeks outpatient informational classes (to help me understand and live with my disease…)

I’ve identified my triggers, I’ve learned how to do mindfullness (to relax)…but it always seems like for every step I make forward, I’m pushed ten steps back!!

Latelly, I noticed that my bipolar was worst when my “female hormones” were shifting (like in my ovulation, my PMS and my messes)

Is there anyone out there that lived/or is living something similar to me?! And if so, how do you keep sane?! How did you get better??Is it normal to have meds work for a while and then stop helping out!?

I know I’m asking alot but, PLEASE HELP!!

BTW: I’m unable to take “the pill” to stabilize my hormones…I react badly to those meds too!!

To start, I was diagnosed 7 yrs ago with Bipolar Disorder. Been depressed all my life, attempted suicide 4 times in past 22 yrs. Finally am seeing a good psychiatrist and counselor and I think I’m on the right meds. Definitely see the road to recovery. I have lots of racing thoughts and tons & tons of questions. Questions about everything – God, religions, faith, food, soda, war, poverty, abortion, colors, nature, animals, my past, my son’s mental health, my birth parents (am adopted), the universe, etc. etc. the list is HUGE! I do seek answers often, I read a lot, spend a lot of time on the internet & at the library and emailing friends. In the past 3 months I have had my counselor, a priest, a good friend, my mother and my son all tell me that I ask too many questions. That made me upset and sad and lost. Do I just ignore my questions and thoughts? Do I write them done and burn them? Do I keep seeking answers? SEE, I am asking questions here My brain does not stop. HELP!

My grandchild (17) was put on 50mg of seroquel after being tenetively diagnosed with bipolar disorder. She also has been diagnosed with post tramatic stress syndrone and OCD.

It was suggested to me by a friend that I could be bipolar, but I’d rather not go to a specialist because I don’t like making a big deal out of these things, and honestly it just doesn’t make sense in my head that I’d have something like that.

I suppose there are times I feel manic. My thoughts race, I can’t stay still for more than a minute, I get an urge to leave the room and go somewhere else only to return again straight after I’ve left… and then sometimes I feel so crushingly low it verges on suicidal. The latter happens quite often… everything seems really pointless; even my (beloved) girlfriend just completely disappears, and I want to sleep forever. Next day I could be totally content.

My dog is sweet but aggressive.You can be petting him and he can just turn around and bite you. And he will attack any stranger that comes into the house [as well as the possibility of biting any of the family members.
He is very small [chihuahua/daschund mix] but has a big bite.
we are starting to think he is bipolar or has some other sort of problem. is there medication for this kind of stuff? or a solution?
and the reason for me asking is

the last thing i ever want to do is euthanize him!

symbyax is a combination of fluoxetine (prozac) and olanzapine (zyprexa) that works wonders but has the unfortunate side effect of inducing significant weight gain (that’s the zyprexa), a prohibitive factor in those already overweight for whom it represents a serious medical concern in it’s own right. does anyone know of a similarly-acting med that is weight neutral? the prozac by itself does not help. thanks!

wife dismisses bipolar diagnosis for years, pregnant now with baby/spina bifida. Is there hope?

We’ve just been diagnosed at 18 weeks pregnant the baby has spina bifida. My wife continues to lie to the doctors about the severity of her behaviors/bipolar. She causes fights everyday at home. Life is totally unbearable. Now we find out she’s pregnant. I explained to the doctors she is getting worse, with symptoms of when she was baker acted last year, (3 times, twice suicide attempts). She insists on having this baby, even though she is totally afraid of the spina bifida diagnosis. I try to get support people to talk with her, but she immediately finds the problems and rages at me about them. She refuses to go to bipolar support meetings, saying she is being fingered out by everyone. She has gone so far as to say I created this and am using the bipolar diagnosis as an excuse to control her. I don’t know what to do. How are we going to have this baby born with her so out of control?

Is there any way you can compel someone by law to seek treatment for bipolar disorder?

My ex has bi polar disorder and will not admit it to himself and will not seek treatment. As a result, I don’t want him around at all and that makes it very hard on me raising our daughter on my own. Also he doesn’t pay child support and I resent that. Is there anything I can do to force him to seek treatment?

A few months ago I was diagnosed with having bipolar disorder. However, for various reasons, I’m unable to take any medication or visit a psychiatrist, or anything of the sort.

I’m noticing my mood swings are beginning to become more and more severe, and I know I’m putting myself in danger again. Is there anything I can do to help keep my mood stable and reduce dark thoughts?

I feel like I’m fighting a battle unarmed, and I need some reinforcements.
I’m deathly afraid of psychiatric hospitals. I had a bad experience there last year.
