The condition in which people experience abnormally high manic or hypomania states that disturbs with normal functioning is known as bipolar disorder. It refers to the cycling of high and low poles (episodes). Besides medicines and therapy, the condition can be treated with bipolar support.
Bipolar disorder is equally prevalent in men and women of any cultures and ethnic groups. One out of every forty- five adults in America is facing the chemical imbalance in the brain that is approximately five million Americans are afflicted by the condition.
Here I discuss how to support someone with bipolar disorder from the ‘Power of Now’ level of consciousness. See my blog…. bipolar-or-wakingup.blogspot.com
I’ve been in this relationship for almost 8 months, and everything is going well, when we hit our 3 months mark, he told me about his BPD.up until recently his seemed fine, taking his meds, going to therapy etc. but over the last couple days he has just been really hyper and is just talking alot.so naturally i listened to him as i do for all my friends and the conversation was interesting. he then goes on to tell me about how his family and friends don’t really listen to him when he is in a phase and they just tell him to take his meds. he goes further and tells me that his meds just “norm” him out and he doesn’t want to live like that.so now today he deletes all of his online pages ( facebook, myspace etc.) , in addition to that he didn’t go to bed until about 10 am this morning.he spends his time online looking at things from “how to get free soda from a soda machine” , to “how the government is using facebook to spy on your life” .
Personally I think he just needs someone to talk to when he is in a state but according to him I am all he has to talk to .
Are these traits to something more serious and if so how do I continue to help him,
I make sure he takes his meds, he also has become a diabetic from this , he has been spending a little bit above normal recently so I also took his credit cards away from him.
married 13 years. 3 kids. already broken up twice. scared to leave again. he will fall apart without me but is very verbally and emotionally abusive. want what is best for my kids. please help me!
My husband is being very supportive, but my family and friends who I have told are being critical of my doctors choice to give me medication (which I think is going to help). I have not been able to control my moods and the other effects of bipolar and I am glad I am finally going to have help. Despite how I have tried to explain my reasons for getting medical help, they do not seem supportive. They try to tell me that I am fine, but I have never felt “fine.” After years of being told it is only anxiety or depression, (I am normally happy, not sad) I have finally found a doctor that has done a very thorough examination of how I feel mentally and physically and I trust his medical opinion. How do I get them to stop criticizing my decision?
My family argues and looks down on me. My parents don’t talk to me. Honestly, I feel my siblings know that I am sick but love to see me struggling. They argue with me but I usually argue back to tell them I have bipolar. Now I don’t care for a relationship,
Anyone have personal experience? or any examples?
