Why am I being treated for bipolar with epilepsy medication?
I have been treated with two different epilepsy medications because I have bipolar. I’m just wondering what epilepsy and bipolar have in common…if anything?

I’ve been browsing the web in hopes of finding a medication that will work for a young man aged 20 who is suffering these illnesses and whose psych doesnt seem to know what to prescribe or really care. He has morbid hallucinations and severe mood swings and a desire to kill himself. There are so many different meds for this – and we need to find the RIGHT one for him quick. So whatever advice and experience is offered will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
I’m broke and my mind just goes crazy a lot, and I have never been on medication
i believe i have bipolar disorder. its not COMPLETELY serious, but its serious to the point where it is ruining my relationship with people, and where people notice everyday.
so can you control it without seeing a psychiatrist? with no medication?
i am not willing to give up ecstasy for my antidepressants.
which medications have a low risk mixing with e?
well i honestly don’t care about my life anymore. the only thing that keeps me from killing myself is drugs, especially ecstasy. so i’d rather “risk it all”.
I have rapid cycling type 1 bipolar affective disorder with dysphoric mania…it’s bloody awful to be frank and I’m feeling really down at the moment while questions of meds are sorted out…
I wanted to know, if you have bipolar, what meds have you tried and how did you find them? What were the side effects? Have you got to take them long term? Do you know the long term effects? What didn’t work?
I was diagnosised with bipolar when I was 15, but the medication made me feel empty and void of all emotion. I quit taking the medication and since then have been fighting an on-going battle to maintain my life without medication. I feel like it was been a lost cause, and I have wasted my time trying to be normal with this disease. I don’t know what I can do to regain my life.
I was thinking lithium was the wonder drug for bipolar but now I’ve been reading a lot of people who have been dissatisfied with it and its side effects. Well, also some people who say it helped. But anyway… I know there are countless medications to treat bipolar and I was wondering what the best ones are, which have the fewest side effects and are the safest.
Thanks.
I dont want to take medication for bipolar… Do I have to? What should I do?
I’ve been seeing a counselor. Went to a psychiatrist and after 2 visits he prescribed me with Zoloft because of depression. I’m 17 years old. I have a sister and cousins who have bipolar disorder. Most of my family tells me im bipolar because of the way i act. Either too hyper or too sad and upset with everyone.
I’m pretty sure im bipolar except my psychiatrist hasn’t diagnosed me with it and im afraid now that im taking this medication it wont help me.
