Bipolar test and the Diagnosis

Article by Jamessms

Any disorder or a disease, after its symptoms are found, should be tested and then the diagnosis should be proceeded with. Similarly, bipolar test should be conducted to the person in whom the bipolar symptoms are found and then the diagnosis is followed. Neglecting it even after the symptoms are found, results in the worsening of the case. Seeking a doctor’s consultation would be helpful to the person as the doctor conducts the bipolar test and goes with the necessary diagnosis. Bipolar disorder test is important because the right methods of treatment would be known only after it is tested.

Due to the studies on bipolar disorder, it was evident that the bipolar cases are dangerous. Most of the bipolar patients with whom the bipolar symptoms such as the manic and depressive episodes are found, cannot be diagnosed. There is no specific duration for a bipolar test. In some cases, the bipolar disorder test can take several years prior to the right diagnosis. There is reasonable explanation behind this. It is rather a very tough task to detect mental illness in a person. Sometimes when a person behaves like a depressed or a manic, it would give the others a feeling that the victim doesn’t need any bipolar test. Hence, only the reasons for depression will be diagnosed most of the times. But not all depressions are the symptoms of bipolar disorder. As a result, when the patient is not given proper diagnosis, it leads to bipolar disorder.

Diagnosing bipolar disorder has always been tricky, particularly for doctors and therapists. If there was a laboratory test or x-ray that could give a definitive bipolar disorder diagnosis, preliminary investigations by doctors would provide a much clearer result.

This lack of quantifiable analysis is part of the reason for the difficulty in determining whether the symptoms indicate mental illness or not. Accurate diagnosis is usually only reached after careful analysis of behaviour, thought patterns and consultation with family and loved ones.

Question by AngelMidnight: If a diagnosis changes from schizophrenia to Bipolar Type 2, could disability payments stop?
I had to come off schizophrenia medication due to a potential heart problem. However, I did not have hallucinations and then I had no diagnosis. Four weeks later I had a Bipolar Symptom and now the diagnosis is Bipolar Type 2. My disability from Social Security was granted based on a schizophrenia diagnosis. Will I have to return to work based on my diagnosis changing or is Bipolar Type 2 a diagnosis where disability benefits can be received?

Newish Bipolar diagnosis and mood questions?

I was diagnosed as being bipolar aprox 6 months ago. The doc put me on 100mg Lamictal, 10mg Loxapro 10mg Remeron (at night) and 1mg Xanax as needed. This combo has been working for the most part except for deminishing the really LOW lows. The doc will not up the Lexapro. I feel I need more help with the depression. Any suggestions as far as a different antidepressent goes? Also, I’m like an emotionless drone, is this because my “mania” is under control? I just feel dull and emotionless and not myself? What do you think?

Over Diagnosis Of Bipolar Disorder

In 2008, a study concluded that the over diagnosis of bipolar disorder is now a greater concern than the under diagnosis. Fewer than half of previously diagnosed bipolar disorder patients retested under the Structured Clinical Interview for DSM-IV (SCID) actually qualified under the psychiatric terms for bipolar disorder diagnosis.

The study was conducted by principle investigator, Mark Zimmerman, M.D., with the Rhode Island Hospital and Brown University researchers.

mixed state bipolar diagnosis?

recently hospitalised and diagnosed and just wondering is this common? it seems a bit strange that u can be up and down at the same time. and its probably the worst frame of mind to be in because you can be full of energy but also raging with hostility and impatience. its like your mind is 2 different places at once.
