I had some rather bizzarre effects from taking Topamax at 50mg twice a day for migraines. I also have bipolar 1, but I was going through a very difficult period of time and I wonder if this was the cause or if it was the medication? Can Topamax cause the suicide reaction as anti-depressants can?
I’ve been experiencing some strange reactions and severe depression far beyond anything in the normal range for me. This stopped immediately when I discontinued Topamax. Unfortunately I did not have the choice as to how to stop the medication, as I was kept away from my medication for ten days. My doc says I shouldn’t try this medication again, it looks like we’re back on the drawing board for medication to treat/prevent my migraines. I’m posting a new question asking for advice on migraine medications.
