Article by Kaye Dennan

If anyone around you is suffering from bi-polar disorder, then remember that your support and love is something that can help in his / her recovery and treatment. The behavior and mood swings of someone suffering from bipolar disorder not only affect the patient but also people associated with him/her. During an attack, one may have to deal with hotheaded outbursts, despicable demands, reckless decisions, and irresponsible antics.

Ideas For Bipolar Disorder Care

• Learn everything related to bipolar disorder including its treatments and symptoms. The more information you have, the more successful you will be at helping your loved one.

• Encourage the patient to seek help. The sooner the illness is treatment, the more chances will be there of recovery. Don’t waste time in seeing if the patient will be able to recover without treatment.

• Be patient. Remember that recovery from mental illness may take a long time. Be prepared for challenges and setbacks during the course of the treatment.

Expectations Of A Person With Bipolar Disorder

One factor about bipolar is that it has many changes. There is no set time that a person is in the depressive phase or likewise with the manic phase. These changes in mood could be as little as a minute, or they could be as long as several months.

When a person has been diagnosed with bipolar disorder and recovery signs are evident care needs to be taken not to show disappointment if signs of the disorder show again.

It is important for carers to enjoy the good times and work through the bad times with a positive view in mind.

I refer to caring for a person with a mental illness, especially bipolar, as a roller coaster ride because of the ups and downs of the cycles.

Importance of Carer’s Support in Recovery from Bipolar Disorder

People suffering from bi-polar disorder recover in a much better manner when they receive support from the family, friends, and carers. It is very important for the family members to accept that the patient may never become normal again. Having realistic expectations is also very important.

It is also very important to accept your own limitations as a carer. Remember that you cannot rescue the patient suffering from bipolar disorder, nor force anyone to get better.

Keep in mind that stress has a negative effect on the bipolar disorder; so it is very important to find out the ways in which you can reduce stress in the life of the patient. Volunteer to take some responsibilities of the patient into your own hands. Also, it will be beneficial to enforce and establish a regular routine.

Communicating honestly and openly with the patient suffering from bi-polar disorder is also very important. Sharing your thoughts and concerns in a affectionate manner, asking the person if they need help, and making real efforts to listen can be extremely helpful for the patient.

Looking through the evolution and development of bipolar disorder or also known as manic depression medications, you can say that they’ve changed dramatically but experts are still on the lookout for the best bipolar medication. Currently, bipolar patients are at the same time subjected to varying medications instead of just be given with a single medication that will totally take care of the problem. In the past, lithium has been the best bipolar medication used for patients. This was discovered in 1949 as an effective mediation in taking care of bipolar disorder. Although it’s considered to be the best, it’s still not a standalone medication as other medications should also be included with it to ensure its effectiveness. Apart from lithium, other medications like anticonvulsants are used for treating bipolar disorders. Examples of these are Depakote, Lamictal, tegretol, trileptal and others. The focus of these medications is to manage seizure disorders. Many physicians find them effective for managing a bipolar disorder so it’s been used throughout the years.

The next type of bipolar treatment is the antipsychotics. The main task of these drugs is to stabilize mood as they work directly to the brain and neurotransmitters. They balance the levels of different neurotransmitters to ensure mood stability. The most common antipsychotics in the market are Geodon, Abilify, Seroquel, Zyprexa, and clorazil. Typically, this type of drug is considered as the best bipolar medication. While antipsychotics are regarded as the best bipolar medication, antidepressants are considered to be not the most helpful medication for this problem as they can trigger the occurrences of bipolar episodes to patients.

Monitoring is required for patients who are under antidepressants, including maintenance medications like lithium, Lamictal and valproate. It’s essential for the patient to be under these maintenance medications all the time even with the absence of fatal symptoms. In conclusion, you’ll not really find an actual best bipolar treatment for this condition as the effects of medications may vary depending on the patient who’s taking it. However, you can regard a drug as the best bipolar medication as long as it’s able to control the occurrence of episodes and symptoms.

Article by Chani Prem T

Lamictal is a prescription medication that is sold in Canada Pharmacies and is used to treat two extremely serious diseases. These are epilepsy and bipolar disorder. The Centre for Disease Control- USA estimates that more than 2 million Americans are affected with epilepsy. Approximately 140,000 new cases of epilepsy were diagnosed in 2010. Epilepsy costs the US government .5 billion in medical costs and lost earnings and production. Bipolar disorder is another mental disorder that affected more than 5.7million adults in 2006. According to the WHO suicide related with bipolar disorder is the 6th cause of death in the world.

Epilepsy and its Causes and SymptomsEpilepsy is a neurological condition. There is no significant cause of epilepsy. However, it is noted that various abnormal conditions affect the neurons in the brain which leads to seizure which marks the main characteristic of epilepsy. Genetics, other mental disorders and head injuries are among the other causes that may cause epilepsy. Epilepsy can be categorized into two groups, based on the seizure type. These are focal seizures and generalized seizures. Individuals with focal seizures will display strange and repetitive behaviour and experience auras. Those with generalized seizures will experience loss of consciousness and muscle spasms. Epilepsy can be diagnosed through EEG records, brain scans, blood tests and detailed medical history.

Bipolar Disorder and its Causes and SymptomsBipolar disorder is also known as manic-depressive disorder. This is a mental illness that causes severe mood swings, mania and progressive depression. Contrary to popular belief that bipolar disorder is hereditary; there is no concrete evidence to this theory. However, genetics does play a crucial role along with psychological and environmental factors. The most significant symptom associated with bipolar disorder is the mood swings. The variation between moods can be low or very severe. Left without treatment, bipolar disorder can be fatal as most patients experience overwhelming desires to commit suicide during their lower ebbs of the mood swing.

Treating These IllnessesLamictal or its generic, Lamotrigine is used to prevent epileptic seizures and delay episodes of mood swings in bipolar disorder. The release of lamotrigine in the medication prevents abnormal activity in the brain, reducing the risk of seizures. Although known as a sodium channel blocking antiepileptic drug, it is believed that there is broader spectrum action which makes it a useful adjunct treatment for bipolar disorder. It is approved by the FDA for treatment of type 1 bipolar disorder. Lamotrigine is sold at bigmountaindrugs.com in 25mg, 50mg, 100mg, 150mg and 200mg tablets. Lamotrigine should not be taken without a prescription and should not be taken longer than prescribed. It should be administered exactly in the manner that has been advised by the doctors to avoid any further complications.

Adverse Effects & Drug InteractionsCommon side effects of this medication include insomnia, headaches and dizziness. Lamotrigine should be discontinued immediately if experiencing anxiety, depression, severe mood changes, muscle cramps, allergic reactions and fever or infection. Medical treatment should be obtained without delay if experiencing any of the above mentioned severe side effects. Patients need to keep their doctors informed about any drugs taken and medical conditions during this time. Certain medications such as birth control pills, female hormone treatments and other medications taken for epilepsy may interact with Lamictal. Such information should be conveyed to the doctor at the time of prescriptions.

Lamictal is a prescription medication that provides relief from symptoms of epilepsy and bipolar disorder. Taking this medication as per prescribed instructions will help aid the recovery and also avoid any detrimental situations.

It’s important to understand that Bipolar disorder is an extremely complex illness. Doctors and scientists sill learning about its origination, causes and prevention methods as well as treatment. At this moment it has been established that this illness causes sudden and often mood changes, and these mood swings are often unexplainable. It is true that Bipolar Disorder Symptoms are too many but they also vary depending on individuals. most common symptoms among others are the mood swings, completely unpredictable and very dangerous. These so called mood swings happen when people shift between 2 states of the disease, mania and depression. It has been observed that such shifts may happen few times a day or as much as once in several weeks or even months. Bipolar Disorder is a genetic type of illness, which means it can be inherited from the parents. As you probably already know, it is impossible to cure this illness but with the right combination of meds and therapy, Bipolar Disorder symptoms can be eased and the illness can be taken under control. When in manic state of the Bipolar Disorder, people affected with this illness became very energetic and hyper active, they engage in risky situations, drive drunk, takers drugs etc., Which means manic state can cause persons take drug and alcohol but also, taking drugs and alcohol can cause persons to shift into the manic state. Unlike the manic state when patients experience high energy, depressive state is opposite of that. in depression state, patients became very cold and closed in. they stop socializing with people, including their families and loved ones and if left untreated, they become suicidal. Bipolar Disorder usually manifests itself during teen years but children may also be affected with this illness and the environment they are raised in usually is the main cause; violent environment or when children are being mistreated. In such cases Bipolar Disorder can remain for many years and show itself only in person’s adulthood. If you have a good reason to believe that have observed Bipolar Disorder Symptoms in someone close to you, do not hesitate to contact doctors with this information. Finding this illness at early stages may be critically important and the treatment options are better when the illness is found early. Right therapy and medicines can ease the symptoms and prevent them progressing into more dangerous symptoms and dealing with such symptoms usually save lives.

The first thing you need to do if you believe that you suffer from bipolar disorder disease is to get all the facts that you need to get help. In this article we will discus the Medical side of Bipolar.

In upcoming articles you can expect the following:

a.) Do You Have Bipolar?

b.) What’s The Cause?

c.) Are You At Risk?

d.) Should You Go To The Doctor?

e.) Who Should I See?

Most individuals, diagnosed with bipolar disorder, have one big goal. That goal is to live a life that is as natural as can be. To get through today without having any emotional problems, to make it through the next big meeting at work without people wondering what is wrong with you or to simply be able to enjoy your daughter or son’s graduation or birthday are all additional goals that you may have.

Before you can be taught to cope with bipolar disorder, you need to fully understand your condition. You need to know what things around you triggers your depression or mood swings, as best that you can, so that you will be able to then trigger your own coping mechanisms to work for you.

There is no hundred percent sure way to stop things from happening to you. But, there are several things that you can learn to do to help you improve your outlook on live and prevent you suffering and landing in that “Dark Hole” .

To teach you all the coping strategies, we will begin by giving you all of the facts you need about your condition so that you can better comprehend what is happening to you. Even if you are a family member who just wants to help someone that has bipolar, then by all means, you too can be taught all that you need to know in order to render the help and assistance that you can give to them.

Bipolar: The Medical Side

Bipolar is a disease in which the patient experience extremes in moods and life experiences. It is well documented that bipolar is a health condition, that is serious and disabling to those that suffer from it. It is a mental sickness and it call for the necessary treatment.

You may have heard bipolar is also known as Manic Depression or that a person suffering from it has a manic depressive condition. But, what scientists have determined is that manic style behavior is only one extreme of this condition. The other component of this illness is depression. Both of these conditions are enormously serious and can have a great impact on your well being and even on your life span and must be treated.

Although doctors do not know what causes depression or a bipolar disorder, they are continually working on finding out what the causes are. Along with that, you can be certain that there are a number of scientists searching for a way to cure the disease. However, until that happens, we need to examine what we do know about bipolar and what it does to the person that is suffering from it.

For most people bipolar begins when they are in their teens. Some scientists believe that it is triggered by puberty. but then again, others will not develop this illness till they are in their early adult years. The thing to remember is that Bipolar can last you your life time.

For most patients, bipolar is a illness that doesn’t happen all of the time. They don’t go in and out of moods all the time or have other experiences within seconds and it does not occur all of the time either. For instance, some people will have bouts that will last for several weeks. Others will have them for a few months at a time. It is only in very rare cases that you will get someone with a condition where the mood swings and symptoms flare all the time.

Please be mindful that if you don’t get assistance for bipolar, your condition is likely to continue to worsen. It is a reality that depression itself is a killer. Hence, not getting help is simply not an option. But, the good news is that there are medications, treatments and therapies that can help to reduce the symptoms and help you to cope with your illness.

In my following article we will ask and answer the question, Do You Have Bipolar? And discover what the signs and symptoms are. All the best to your Health and Happiness.

Article by Core Fitness

The basics of an often misunderstood and frequently feared condition.

While bipolar disorder is often laughed about, it is no joking matter. It is also nothing to be feared. Rather, it is a condition that – if ignored, misdiagnosed, or mistreated – can have a tremendous impact on an individual’s quality of life. Before you shy away from discussing the disorder or make a wisecrack, read on to find out the truth concerning this difficult to understand condition.

What is bipolar disorder?

Also called manic-depressive illness, it is a condition that takes root in the brain. Individuals with the condition suffer from incredible, immediate changes in mood, energy level, and ability to carry out ordinary functions of daily life.

Is it dangerous?

When someone is dealing with the constant ups and downs that accompany this condition, the result can be disastrous. From difficulty maintaining meaningful relationships to sudden outbursts at work or school, bipolar disorder can cause them all. Due to the sudden, powerful depressive bouts, people with bipolar disorder are also more likely to attempt suicide.

Who is at risk?

Everyone is at risk for suffering from this. While it is unclear what causes bipolar disorder to develop, researchers have determined that people with a family history of the condition are at increased risk for the disorder themselves. It typically begins to become symptomatic in the late teen years or early adulthood, but can develop and manifest in childhood.

What are the symptoms?

As mentioned previously, bipolar disorder results in sudden, dramatic mood swings, energy levels, and ability and willingness to function. Other symptoms of a manic episode include poor judgment, spending sprees, drug abuse, extreme irritability, increased energy, and feelings of restlessness. During a depressive bout, symptoms include feelings of hopelessness, helplessness, or guilt; decreased energy; disruption of sleep patterns; and suicidal thoughts or attempts. To be deemed a depressive or manic episode, an individual must experience multiple symptoms for prolonged periods.

How is it treated?

Currently, bipolar disorder is typically treated with a combination of medication and psychosocial treatments (often psychotherapy). For success, the treatment must be taken seriously and followed rigorously throughout life. Even with these treatments in place, it is not uncommon for bipolar episodes to occur. When this happens, people with bipolar disorder are encouraged to contact their physicians to tweak their treatment plans to prevent the episode from worsening.

What should be done during a bipolar event?

If you suspect someone is suffering a bipolar event, most important is to protect the individual suffering the event. Don’t let him or her drive or operate heavy machinery and stay with the person until the episode passes. In the event the bipolar individual is threatening to commit suicide, immediately call 911 or an appropriate physician, and again – never leave him or her alone.

How constant an impact does bipolar disorder have?

Fortunately, while bipolar episodes will likely recur time and again during an individual’s life, most people with bipolar disorder can lead normal, healthy lives between the episodes. However, some people suffer from residual symptoms of bipolar disorder and others suffer regular episodes, regardless of whether they’re undergoing treatment or not.

Article by col ony

Everyone has days where they feel “on” and days exactly where they feel just slightly “off.” However, for those men and women who suffer from bipolar disorder, these “on” days and “off” days tend to be much more severe in nature. Bipolar disorder, also known as manic depression, can affect people in all aspects of their life, including school and/or job performance and relationships. Whilst this mental disorder can be treated, numerous do not understand the warning signs associated with it, enabling the mental disorder to fester further.

Bipolar disorder causes very severe shifts in a person’s energy, mood, thinking, as well as behavior. These people go from being manic at one extreme, to becoming depressed at the other extreme. These cycles do not last for an hour or two, but days, weeks, and sometimes, even months. In contrast to regular mood swings, this mania or depression will hinder an individual from functioning properly. For example, a manic episode may cause an individual to rack up huge charges on their credit cards, quit a job impulsively, or really feel rested after only one hour of sleep. On the other end of the spectrum, the depression may make an individual too fatigued to leave bed and they tend to fester in hopelessness and self-loathing.

While bipolar disorder is a lot more common that people tend to be conscious of, there are a number of myths associated with this mental disorder than need debunking. The first myth is that those who suffer from severe bouts of mania and depression are unable to lead regular lives. This is false. The truth is that people with this mental disorder are living extremely happy, regular lives, including jobs and relationships. Whilst it can be challenging to live with this mental disorder, with the correct remedies, such as medication and cognitive behavioral therapy, mixed with the right coping mechanisms and a wholesome support system, anyone can live happily and manage symptoms.

Another myth is that only mood is affected. Again, this is extremely far from the truth. Bipolar disorder also affects memory, judgment, energy level, sleep patterns, concentration, sex drive, self-esteem, and appetite. This mental disorder is also lined to anxiety and a number of health issues, which includes hypertension and migraines.

One last myth is that the only way to manage bipolar disorder is via medication. While medication is deemed as a foundation to combating this mental disease, it is not the only thing individuals should use. As previously stated, therapy mixed with coping mechanism also need to be utilized to fight symptoms of this mental disorder. Other factors that can assist in controlling mood include healthy diet, regular exercise, great night’s sleep, monitoring mood, making certain tension levels stay at a minimum, and having a good support system.

Bipolar disorder is a serious condition that causes a major shift in moods, thinking, and change in a person’s behavior. Behavior change usually ranges from low depression moods to extreme severe mania. Cycles of bipolar disorder differ from one person to the other, and can last for days, weeks and months because it is divided into bipolar I and bipolar II disorders. However, one can differentiate bipolar mood swings from ordinary mood swings because manic swings are intense and can hinder a person’s normal functioning. For instance, in a manic episode, a person may feel quite restless even after long hours of good sleep. A person may also quit his or her job with no valid reason or impulsively. The causes of bipolar disorder are not clear; however, it runs in families and often occurs at teenage and early adulthood. There are various symptoms of bipolar disorder but with proper diagnosis and right treatment, a person can live a happy fulfilling life.Symptoms of Bipolar Disorder in Adults can occur together with symptoms of depression and in such a situation, it is often referred to as mixed episode. Patients will experience poor judgment and low self esteem. As a result, one may feel sensitive over a particular issue and even cry. Euphoria and extreme optimism are also evident in patients suffering from the disorder. The patient will have racing thoughts and an aggressive behavior. When disturbed, a patient may be violent. He or she will often feel agitated over petty issues which never irritated him in the past. You will also notice increased physical activity where the patient may get involved in weird activities which requires lots of energy, or exercises such as weight lifting.Similarly, many people with bipolar disorder will engage in risky behaviors such as excessive drinking and risky sexual behaviors. They will often make poor financial choices and engage in drinking or spending sprees such as unplanned shopping among other poor financial decisions. Increased sex drive and increased desire to achieve certain goals are evident in a person who could be suffering from the disorder. Some people also have a hard time concentrating, decreased need for sleep, absenteeism from school or at work, psychosis and poor or dropping performances at school. These symptoms are very evident with mixed maniac while depressive stage of bipolar disorder also presents itself with different symptoms.A person will often feel sad, abandoned and with sleep problems. They may also experience a loss of interest in many activities at work or school, fatigue, low or increased appetite, and a chronic pain where the cause cannot be established. Many people under depressive phase will have suicidal thoughts, Irritability, anxiety and feel guilty over some issues.Bipolar disorder symptoms can also be seasonal where a person experiences drastic mood swings during certain seasons of the year. Psychosis may also occur. It is a phase where a person is detached from reality and it is characterized with delusions and hallucinations. A psychotic break is often the first sign of a bipolar disorder in many people. A person with these symptoms requires a lot of support from family members and proper treatment from a psychiatrist.

Article by wilfred henderson

For most disorders, bpd included, there is not just one single but many prescription drugs available. Here are three of the most popular treatments increasingly being utilized to treat bipolar disease.

Lithium

Lithium is often referred to as the first mood stabilizer. Though it was discovered in 1817, it wasn’t until later from the century who’s was found to have mood stabilizing properties, specifically anti-manic capabilities. By 1969 it had been preferred technique of treating manic depression.

It’s not necessarily known exactly how lithium works with mental performance to stabilize moods. It’s theorized that joggers afflicted with bipolar disease have a very chemical imbalance in the portion of the brain that controls emotions knowning that lithium helps you to restore the proper balance.

Today, lithium is often the first drug treatment attempted when treating bpd. It’s especially effective if there is a household reputation of bipolar disorder. If a genealogy and family history will not exist, Lithium is often less efficient along with treatments may be attempted instead.

Recently, because of its toxicity and also other unwanted effects, some medical experts have started to be put off by prescribing lithium.

Valproate

In america, valproate could be the second most in-demand drug accustomed to fight bpd. This appears to be mainly a direct result of the countless lithium side effects and concerns. Even among doctors that prefer lithium as a first choice, valproate can be quite a strong second choice. Also, as stated before, lithium isn’t necessarily effective for treating bipolar disorder. In such cases, valproate is usually considered a fantastic alternative healthcare.

Although lithium and valproate seem to have similar efficacy for treating bipolar disorder, there are no head to head numerous studies between two so a definitive conclusion cannot be reached. However, because valproate is much easier on the human body, insect activity . natural drug preference for some.

An additional anxiety about using valproate is that while it has been confirmed to be effective against bipolar mania, it has been less efficient against bipolar depression.

Carbamazepine

In Europe, carbamazepine, introduced in the early 1960s, could be the second most in-demand drug used in treating bpd. Although, numerous studies have shown proven so that it is effective for bpd, they have not been approved worldwide.

So that as with all the drug valproate, carbamazepine while effective for the treatment of bipolar mania, is less powerful at treating bipolar depression.

Conclusion

On the top three drugs employed to fight bipolar disease, all of them are relatively equal for bipolar mania. However, when it comes to treating bipolar depression along with reducing feelings of suicide, lithium appears to be have the clear edge.

Unfortunately, a lot of the studies that current bipolar medication is depending on are 15 or more years old and are greatly obsolete.

Fortunately, the scientific community, recognizing this, is starting to become more interested in studying new treatments for bipolar mania. There are several medical trials underway which will test the opportunity for a brand new class of bipolar drugs and hopefully bring about much needed help for families working with this emotional wrenching disease.

Article by Kevin Pederson

Bipolar disorder is also referred to as manic depressive illness and is a type of mental disorder that results in unusual and erratic shift in the mood and energy levels of an individual. It greatly affects the activity levels and the ability of the individual to perform daily tasks. Some of the symptoms of manic depressive illness or it can be extremely severe, and may cause damaged relationships amidst various social disabilities, including suicide. Fortunately, it can be effectively treated as people who experience this illness can lead a full and productive life with the help of proper treatment. However, there are numerous myths surrounding this mental disorder, therefore, it is important to sift the truth and the lies about bipolar disorder.

In recent times due to increased awareness about bipolar disorder or manic depressive illness, a greater number of people have gained perfect understanding of this disorder than before. One of the biggest myths of this ailment is that it is a rare condition which is not true. According to recent research and statistics a large number of people suffer from this disease, which approximately reads as 2.5% of the US population. Another myth of it is that most people referred to it as mood swings which is very different from the condition. Although mood swings are an integral symptom of this ailment, the duration, length and severity of mood swings are far more long-lasting and severe, which greatly affect the individual’s ability in daily life.

Another myth that was extremely popular till about the year 2008 was that there is a bipolar disorder test, which is not true. A number of bipolar tests which were sold over the Internet made large headlines about whether bipolar could be effectively diagnosed at home. But the truth was that the test only revealed to users whether their genetic buildup actually put them at risk of having or getting manic depressive illness. An actual diagnosis of this ailment depends upon researching on the medical history of a patient, and observing the symptoms displayed over a period of time. If an individual has a family history of manic depressive illness it greatly enhances the individual’s risk of getting it.

Another myth of bipolar disorder is that it cannot be diagnosed until the age of 18 which is untrue, as it can be diagnosed in patients who are under the age of 18. However, it is true that it is far more difficult to diagnosis the symptoms of this condition in some individuals than others, due to the delaying patterns of the illness. Some children display a classic presentation during the early childhood years which can point out to the early stages of the disease, but if a child does not display the classic symptoms it is far more difficult to make an accurate diagnosis.

One of the biggest myths of bipolar disorder is that it has very limited treatment options, which is not true. Although medication and psychotherapy are important in controlling the mental disorder, it also helps to pay attention to lifestyle activities, and involve active strategies such as cardiovascular exercise, adopting a healthy diet and maintaining regular bedtimes. Keeping a watch on certain signs and signals that point to a shift in mental patterns can help in a person in overcoming the mental disorder.

Any disorder or a disease, after its symptoms are found, should be tested and then the diagnosis should be proceeded with. Similarly, bipolar test should be conducted to the person in whom the bipolar symptoms are found and then the diagnosis is followed. Neglecting it even after the symptoms are found, results in the worsening of the case. Seeking a doctor’s consultation would be helpful to the person as the doctor conducts the bipolar test and goes with the necessary diagnosis. Bipolar disorder test is important because the right methods of treatment would be known only after it is tested.

Due to the studies on bipolar disorder, it was evident that the bipolar cases are dangerous. Most of the bipolar patients with whom the bipolar symptoms such as the manic and depressive episodes are found, cannot be diagnosed. There is no specific duration for a bipolar test. In some cases, the bipolar disorder test can take several years prior to the right diagnosis. There is reasonable explanation behind this. It is rather a very tough task to detect mental illness in a person. Sometimes when a person behaves like a depressed or a manic, it would give the others a feeling that the victim doesn’t need any bipolar test. Hence, only the reasons for depression will be diagnosed most of the times. But not all depressions are the symptoms of bipolar disorder. As a result, when the patient is not given proper diagnosis, it leads to bipolar disorder.

The patient will be asked few questions by the doctor while conducting the bipolar test. Also consistent observations, evaluations and the laboratory examinations are part of it. In order to study the stage of the disorder, these observations and evaluations are planned. When the doctor needs a clarification, the patient should tell all the past events that are similar to the symptoms of the disorder without hiding anything as they would help the doctor in diagnosing the case and estimate the state of disorder. Hence, knowing the starting point of the disorder is also a part of bipolar test. Since, the events that happened in a person’s childhood show impact, the doctor asks questions about childhood and they should be answered. The questions would include about the family and past relations sometimes. It is a part of bipolar disorder test. This is somewhat similar to the popular therapy, Hypnotism.

Also the skills, the ability of thinking, emotion factor and memory power of a person are tested while the doctor conducts bipolar test. This helps the doctor to decide the diagnostic methods. Also the patient will have to answer when asked about consumption of illegal drugs, alcohol and illegal contacts if applicable. The patient should not feel shy when these types of questions are asked. Incase if the patient admits about consuming illegal drugs, medical examination is followed. Sometimes, doctor gathers information about the patients from their family and friends as a part of bipolar test. These methods would help the doctor to conduct bipolar test and diagnose the disorder.
