I have been on quite a few and I know everyone is different. I just feel like none of the ones I have been on really worked. They helped but I feel like I need something that works better.
I have been on SEVERAL antidepresants. But as far as bipolar treatments I have tried Lamictal, Depakote, Seroquel, and Trileptal.
Just curious what seems to work well for people with this disorder and how well it does work?

My best friend is getting depressed.
She is pretty much in love with this guy who she has known for years, and he likes her too.
The only problem is that he is bipolar/manic depressed and is really paranoid and when he is feeling down he doesnt come out for days. Im worried about my friend as she really loves him, and am worried if his depression will rub off on her?

My daughter is at her wits ends with her oldest daughter. There is certainly something amiss with her., Since I am bipolar, and on her fathers side, there was a suicide and alcoholism. Her husb. won’t support her in her search for help with her daughter. So she is going to have her hands full.
She is hoping the school will help her get help for her daughter. I really don’t want to go into detail, but there are many symptoms of bipolar, a lot of bizzare behavior; the extreme mood changes; inability to focus; the concrete thinking; anger problems; extremem jealousy of her little sister; (which by the way is perfectly normal). It seems like she is being defiant with her Mom, but she can’t switch from one thought into another one, thus the frustration and the response of anger with her Mom. She doesn’t seem to have ADHD,however, it may be a secondary problem. Any suggestions would be most helpful for the mother. She hates and loves her all at the same time. There isn’t a lack of love.

If you’ve been diagnosed as suffering from depression, you may be worried that you’ll be dependent on drugs for the rest of your life. This doesn’t have to be the case. There are lots of different depression treatment options available, and there’s a good chance one will work for you. While medication is a viable treatment for depression, there are alternatives, including herbal treatments, lifestyle changes, counseling and more.
Your circumstances won’t be quite like anyone else’s, so the exact plan you need will be different from anyone else’s too. This can be frustrating – it’s easy to hope for a “magic bullet” that will fix all your problems and make you feel happy again. However, that’s not possible. You’ll have to think carefully and go over all the depression treatment options in front of you, and you may even have to try a few that don’t work before you find the one that does. Here’s a look at some things to do.

Understand that is perfectly normal to have ups and downs in life. You are going to have moments when you feel like you are king of the world and moments when you feel like you are lower than pond scum. When it affects your ability to live a normal functioning life this is what is known as manic depression or being bipolar.
If you have these feelings and still have what is known as an “inner peace” then you are okay. So yes you feel like you are flying high, or sunk really low but on the inside you know that it is just a day and that everything will be okay in the end. If you are feeling like you are king/queen of the world and decide that you can turn your two bedroom house into a mansion today and start ripping out walls, or that life is bad and you are so low that you do not deserve to live and start thinking of ways to end it all and then going back to the high feeling, it is time to seek professional help and find natural effective ways to help you feel better.
