Haha bless. The INFPS is a personal characteristic and is nothing to do with mental health.

You might find some INFPS type people have bipolar disorder, but they arn't prone to the disorder more than anyone else, it's a disorder spread widely amongst different cultures, lifestyles and god knows all sorts.

One doesn't "pick up" Bipolar illness-- it isn't contagious.
No, there isn't any "personality type", either.
What the hell is INFP, anyway?

I dunno, you may be asking this from the wrong angle.

I believe that Bipolar disorder is a biological disorder that you are born with. Someone that has this disorder that goes in cycles. Obviously the personality would be affected by this.

This is a good question and one that I have never thought of. If the personality is already developed before the bipolar disorder develops then I can understand this question.

INFP's tend to be more sensitive than some of the other personality types so it would make sense that people that have bipolar disorder are also INFP's.

It would also be interesting to find out which subtype of bipolar disorder you are asking about.

But, could this be a trick question? It would seem just as likely that any personality type would "develop" bipolar disorder.

Good luck.

Bipolar Disorder has something to do with unbalanced brain chemicals. . .I don't think it has much to do with a personality type BUT I've had heard that people who suffer from manic depression tend to be on the outgoing, eccentric side. How much of this is true? No clue, personally I believe anyone can suffer from this...even INFPs..

As much as a link in personality types might go...INFPs tend to be moody? Isfp...they're supposed to be moody so I'm taking a guess so...INFP's might observed or teased as being more "bipolar" then another personality type. But of course Bi-polar isn't an effect of moods but a manic state which happens over a period of months.
