I think Bipolar people have memory loss because of treatment side-effects, and also I think if they are on a manic episode, they will forget what they did? correct? How much of a chunk of your memory will you forget?

In most cases, unless you have ingested much too much of your medication you won’t have such severe amnesia.
Mania can blur events but something like cheating on your spouse is not something that you would conveniently forget….. you may forget something that you said or forget things that you bought but the bigger things are usually burned into your mind. Memory loss from meds is different…. I have issues with short term memory, and I will forget how to spell certain words or forget how to tie my shoes but in no way does it cause any sort of amnesia…..
No, it is impossible. If it happened during a manic episode, the sufferer might not be able to remember what drove him/her to do it, but the act can’t be forgotten.
Medication can make you forgetful, but you do not suffer from total amnesia. If the person received Electro Convulsive therapy, it’s possible to forget it completely, but only until they are reminded of it.
Take me for an example.
I was diagnosed with Bipolar I about 7 years ago, and I’ve been on dozens of different medications. At one stage I was a complete zombie. But I can still recall all the funny details of that year (even if I couldn’t laugh at that time). I have done the most stupid and embarrassing things. But I just can’t seem to forget, no matter how hard I try.
So my guess is that whoever uses bipolar as an excuse, is just a coward that won’t take responsibility for what they have done.
