It sounds like you need to go back on the meds. From what I understand, bipolar doesn’t go away and always needs treatment. Depression can go away, but only your doc will know if it’s ok for you to stop the meds. Go back to the doc and go back on the meds.
go back to the doc and let them get you on the right drugs you will feel better
First of all, there is nothing wrong with taking medication for illnesses like these, battles with depression are usually lifelong, and if it takes a couple pills to improve your quality of life then just take them! trust me, dont feel like bad about it! secondly i hope you didnt quit cold turkey, this is so bad as most anti depressants have some sort of dependancy and withdrawal can be awful! talk to your doctor, but i suggest you stay on your meds, and in the meantime try talking to someone, keep yourself busy and dont do anything irrational, there is always helplines you can call to get you through this hard time, good luck
Take the medicine!
If you didn’t see symptoms for awhile, the medicine was obviously working.
Good luck.
This is what the drugs are there to stop I don’t like taking them either I would much rather go and get high than take what is prescribed but that just makes it worse go to the doctor and get scene or go to the er and tell them how bad it is when your off your meds get back on the meds its what keeps us sane.
Talk to your doctor to be sure, but I would recommend going back on your meds as soon as possible. Please don’t fool yourself into thinking you’re “better” and can get off medication – most people on psychoactive medication get this illusion, which is faulty. Depression can go away, yes, with therapy and proper care, but bipolar disorder doesn’t just “go away”. There is no cure for it, and most people diagnosed with BD need medication to function properly. Symptoms can diminish in severity with therapy, but never go away completely, and chances are that if you needed medication in the first place, you’ll need to be medicated for the rest of your life. So please, talk to your doctor about getting back on the meds.
Only take the meds that are prescribed. If they aren’t doing the job, go back to the doctor until they get it right. Bipolar disorder needs to be treated.
u need to get back on ur meds u need to understand the meds help u just bc ur on that doesn’t mean there’s something wrong with u everyone has problems yours are just more noticeable just think of it this way the meds r just something that god wanted for u to help u
How long have you been off them. Because what you may be told or you may see as a return of your illness may be the withdrawal effects of the medicine which will eventually ease if you can manage to brave it through.
If you were on lithium and you stopped it suddenly this is a VERY bad idea. You mustn’t stop it suddenly – 90% will have a relapse within 3 years. You should go on a mood stabiliser. The ones available are lithium, valproic acid, lamotrigine and carbamazepine. Lithium is good for type 1, valproic acid is a good all rounder, lamotrigine is good for type 2, carbamazepine is good for rapid cycling BD.
Antipsychotics are also very helpful – olanzapine and quetiapine are the best for BD.
