Do depressive circumstances cause a bigger problem in bipolar people?

Things such as a relationship breakup, the death of a loved one, and stress at work are all conditions that can cause depression. But do bipolar people in these circumstances have a more severe reaction?

Yup people with bipolar or manic disturbances are already depressed. All people with other disturbances have a common symptom — depression. And the circumstances you mentioned are enough stressors to double the problem. So if this is your friend, i think that he/she should break it off have some vacation and limit those stressors.
I would think so. Bipolar, like many mood disorders, is caused by neurotransmitter malfunctions. The brain’s thought processes have a direct effect on neurotransmitter regulation. So if you’re bombarded with negative inputs, then sure, circumstances can make things worse.
Absolutely, they are so much more affected by what’s going on around them. Good or Bad. They can be pretty passionate, expressive people, but with that comes the deeply troubled side when things aren’t going good. Think of it like this,They have a hard time keeping the mood even as it is, but throw in a life circumstance and that just makes it harder.
Yes, a bipolar person is already walking a tight line of emotions whether manic or depression. Things that are more depressing are going to hit a bipolar suffer like a ton of bricks.

hi, i have bipola type 1. in my experience its all the little things gradually adding up over a long time that get u into troubble. but yes we do take things alot harder than most. we have a lack of ceritonin in our brain leaving us emotionally and mentally unballanced, this can cause real problems if u add stress, drugs, alcohol and trauma into the equation. mania is not a fun experience. the only good thing is the food is good in the nut house.
