FDA approved treatments for bipolar disorders?

what is the best treatment for bipolar disorder?

I am 27 yo suffering of bipolar disorder since I was a teenager. I think the pills I take (seroquel and serlift) are still not good enough.

I have spoken to a doctor…I just want other feedback.
Has anyone out there felt uncomfortable after being treated for bipolar disorder? Like being depressed was getting to be the “normal you” before treatment, and now that you’re being treated you don’t feel like “yourself”. I don’t want to go back to depression, but I noticed this feeling. Anyone out there have anything like this?

I was diagnosed as bipolar last year but couldn’t tolerate any of the meds. I’m on an antidepressant now, but am still having some pretty severe mood swings. Are there any bipolar meds that don’t have very severe side effects?

With the exception of “Therapy” (Which is a bunch of bull, all they do is try hospitalizing me,) “Medications” which make me sick, and “yoga/meditation” which don’t do anything for me… Anything I can do to make my manic/depressive bad feelings any better? Don’t tell me to seek help. FYI to all you people with similar problems as me- Don’t seek help. Help sucks.

I love weed but Im broke, I dont smoke because I made a promise to my friend, and alcohol makes me feel worse.

I’m mostly interested in responses from people who have personally experienced a positive response to treatment. Everyone who knows someone with bipolar or who experiences it themselves knows that the “low” cycle of bipolar can be literally a killer, and many will not take medications because of some of the nasty side effects they have. Which, if any, of the current medications or other treatments have provided you or your loved one with measureable relief with the least negative side effects?

my bf has been diagnosed as bipolar. I know it’s a very difficult situation to be in but i’m extremely patient (we’ve been together 3 yrs. and we knew he was bipolar) and willing to help him find something that will help keep him stable.
he also has irritable bowel syndrome.

do you know of anything that may work/help?

I am currently being treated for having Bipolar type 1. I have not told anyone but I also think I may be anorexic and have a drug dependency problem. Although I’ve never told, I’m pretty sure other suspect. Is there a place I can get treatment for all 3 things at once?
