If you have bipolar disorder, you will probably need medication. You may need it for the rest of your life. That can be hard to accept. Some people see medication as a crutch or a weakness; instead they want to get better on their own.
But you have to remember that bipolar disorder is a real medical illness. It’s not something you can cure with willpower. Taking bipolar disorder medication is just like taking medication for high blood pressure or heart disease.Medication can be like a pair of glasses. Bipolar disorder distorts your view of things; medication may allow you to see clearly again.

If you know someone who has bipolar disorder and is on medication that impairs them to drive?
Who should you report to and how to go about it. I feel this person cant be on the road even if the medication is a RX and being taken as prescribed. What to do?

I have been treated with two different epilepsy medications because I have bipolar. I’m just wondering what epilepsy and bipolar have in common…if anything?

I’ve been browsing the web in hopes of finding a medication that will work for a young man aged 20 who is suffering these illnesses and whose psych doesnt seem to know what to prescribe or really care. He has morbid hallucinations and severe mood swings and a desire to kill himself. There are so many different meds for this – and we need to find the RIGHT one for him quick. So whatever advice and experience is offered will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

i believe i have bipolar disorder. its not COMPLETELY serious, but its serious to the point where it is ruining my relationship with people, and where people notice everyday.
so can you control it without seeing a psychiatrist? with no medication?

i am not willing to give up ecstasy for my antidepressants.
which medications have a low risk mixing with e?
well i honestly don’t care about my life anymore. the only thing that keeps me from killing myself is drugs, especially ecstasy. so i’d rather “risk it all”.

I was diagnosised with bipolar when I was 15, but the medication made me feel empty and void of all emotion. I quit taking the medication and since then have been fighting an on-going battle to maintain my life without medication. I feel like it was been a lost cause, and I have wasted my time trying to be normal with this disease. I don’t know what I can do to regain my life.
