Bipolar Disorder Mood Swings Archives

I am suffering from depression and anxiety such a young age in 8th grade and I am wondering if I have bipolar disorder. I have started taking Zoloft 50mg about a week ago for it (with doctor approval), had few withdrawal symptoms, and seem a bit better now. Better, but still a small amount of depression and anxiety. Before that, I was taking Effexor XR 75mg and had many problems with depression and anxiety. We might get my Zolaft dosage up to 75 or 100mg, depending on what my therapist or doctor reccomends.

I feel like I have a social phobia, as I don’t really prefer to go out in public and I have very few friends because of it. I haven’t invited anyone over to my house, other than my good friend who is two years younger than me. He lives in my neighborhood we barely see each other or talk to each other anymore. I feel like I can’t keep any of my friends because of my social anxiety and have never had a girlfriend although I do have an interest in girls like all other boys do.

Bipolar Disorder

Bipolar disorder, also commonly known as manic-depressive illness, is a brain disorder that inflicts unusual swing not only in a person’s mood but also the level of energy, irritability, aggressiveness, ability to function and temperament. This condition can be dangerous and even life-threatening if left undiagnosed and untreated. A patient who is suffering from bipolar disorder may deteriorate from feeling depressed to feeling absolutely suicidal as the sense of sadness, loneliness and hopelessness take hold. This disorder usually develops in late adolescence, around the age of eighteen or early adulthood. However many sufferers live with this condition for years before it is properly diagnosed. Without treatment, the usual course of bipolar disorder tends to go from bad to worse. The risk of suicide appears to be higher earlier in the course of the illness, consequently being able to detect the symptoms of bipolar disorder early and learning how best to manage it may help decrease the risk of death by suicide.

uals with a family history of bipolar disorder and advise him or her to undergo necessary clinical tests to verify the condition existing, in order to control and treat it properly. This is very important for helping the person lead a happy, normal and healthy life.

Since bipolar disorder is chiefly linked to genetic causes, if an individual has other persons in the family diagnosed with the condition and exhibits certain common symptoms and signs associated with the disease, it is necessary to observe and report these findings, such as frequent, uncontrollable mood swings, loss of speech control, lack of fine motor skills and emotional upswings and downswings both that are not in the normal range. This means being happy one minute and then extraordinarily and uncontrollably depressed and then back to happy again; it can last a few minutes or a full month; thus, with bipolar disorder, mood swings are a constant and can affect daily routine activities adversely.

I was diagnosed with bipolar disorder.

Here is an example of how I feel.

My manic episodes last 3-4 months and my depressive episodes last 3-4 months.

During these long and harsh episodes, day to day I feel an influx of moods.

Like I would be having a manic episode, and some parts of the day its good mania and sometimes its horrible and irritable mania, where i get angry with a burst of energy.
