It’s been 2 weeks since I started Lamotrigine and I (and my friends/family) have noticed that the bipolar symptoms are getting significantly worse. I’m not yet on a full dosage of this drug yet though. I wonder if I have been misdiagnosed and really only have depression but the new bipolar meds are giving me bipolar. Is this possible?

My mother is bipolar and goes on spending sprees whenever she gets any money in her hands. When she gets paid, it is the worst as she spends before she pays her bills. It seems like getting paid makes her swing into the manic phase. Is this possible?
I try to work with her, but she’s not open to it. I just wondered about the money triggering the mania, that’s all. Please don’t give me advice on how to handle her as I know how to do this. I am just looking for answers to the money/trigger question. Thank you all so much!

I feel like a test rat, I’ve switched doctors several times and every time I do they tell me I’m on the wrong medications. They’ll ask me why I’m on it and that it causes weight gain.
I need to be on something that makes me loose weight and won’t contradict with my other medications.
I’m also taking Concerta and Welburtrin.

And if you’ve noticed a lot of symptoms of Bipolar, how can you know hormones might’ve caused it? Meaning how can you notice “Abnormalities” in your hormones? (When your 15 that is). Hope this makes sense

I read that the word loony came from back then when the only source of light was the moon. Light sources at night apparently might have cause bipolar disorder in people. I wonder did it have the same effect on me.
My old parents have set up night-lights in every room since i could remember, and its sometime even bright enough to read at the lightsource. I dont know why exactly but it drives me insane. Its like i want to jump up and run into a wall, and hit myself with something hard. I move around so much in my bed, i can wake people up.
But then, it doesnt have the same effect on my parents…I hvae to sleep in total darkness but since light polution makes the sky light up a bright crimson or pink, i have lots of trouble falling asleep. I usually need to wake up early too. It seems my circadian rhythms are messed up, but my parents fear that if diaster happens at night, they cant get out if its dark. They sleep save, i go to bed insane…
Whats your assessment?

My mild, unmedicated bipolar is getting worse. My neighbor said there was mold in the empty apartments. She also seems very bipolar, sometimes she builds stuff all night long and never sleeps, but sometimes she sleeps for days!
Can mold cause bipolar?
damn, so i really am bipolar, arent i…
MY WINDOW is made of wood. Should my landlord replace it?

I have heard that if you do not have seizures, but take anticonvulsants, it can cause you to have seizures. is that true? can taking a med for seizures cause you to have them even if you have never had a seizure? I take tegretol for bipolar, and just wanna know if thats possible. all sites i read on it only say things about people who are bipolar epileptics.
