Can I have a bipolar diagnosis reversed or be retested?
Question by : Can I have a bipolar diagnosis reversed or be retested?
I was diagnosed with Bipolar disorder at around age 13~ I never took medication for It and I’ve turned out fine. And I’m not in denial.. Truth be told I was just a bastard child when I was younger… I’ll do anything to try to get retested or get this diagnosis reversed.. One doctors diagnosis cannot ruin my life. What are my options?

Yes you can actually be retested if you’d like.
My sister-in-law was diagnosed when she was 16 and is now in her 20′s and was recently told she is no longer under that diagnosis

First of all let me tell you you have been misguided by the diagonalise that you are bipolar.Forget about all old stories .Consult a doctor and share your problems. He will tell you whether you are have depression or bipolar.Let doctor decide. For details about depression and bipolar visit:

Yes, you should be able to get retested, you just have to find a sympathetic psychiatrist really. Sometimes I do wonder about this practice of diagnosing children with adult disorders. I’m sure there are some who will genuinely have it, but I think there are more who won’t. I don’t think a bipolar diagnosis would ruin your life, but as it clearly makes you uncomfortable, it’s worth trying to ‘undo’ it. So good luck!
Why would it ruin your life. Your medical records are completely private so you can just ignore it if you want.
