My med have just been adjusted today and I was wondering if anyone else was taking this combo in any potency.
Topomax-50mg
Risperdal(small Dose) 1mg
Lithium 600mg
Lamictal 200mg

I know the doses aren’t too high and I only just started but I never had this combo and was wondering how many have, thanks!!

I had been thinking about the effects on children of bipolar parents. but I couldn’t get anything from that. now I have about 15 hours to write an essay… and i don’t have anything….. help?

well ive been dating my boyfriend for 6 months already and our relationship is bipolar.what i mean by that is everyday we fight then we make up then we fight again and later make up.this happens everyday. it gets fusterating and i don’t know what to do.i hate getting in fights and later making up. i just want to stay happy, but i feel like he is sometimes immature. what should i do???

I am worried about my 25 year old daughter. We were told by one of her friends, who has gone into a recovery program, that our daughter smokes crystal meth. She doesn’t know that we know. She still lives at home w/ both parents and a 20 year old brother. She was diagnosed as being bipolar & ADD. Her father and I have never seen the “real her”, so it is hard to know if it’s drugs or being manic. We located a live-in recovery home w/ 12 step program & is linked w/ a great church. We were going to do an intervention but now we don’t know if she is still using, since she has been better the last few weeks. It will soon be Christmas & we thought it would be better to wait after the new year. She has always been secretive and never really talks w/ us, also she lies constantly, so rationally talking to her isn’t possible. She uses confrontation to make any such communication impossible. Could she have stopped using? Do we need further proof of her drug usage to send her to a recovery program?

I am looking for alternative methods for treatment. Once I start going off of Lamictal I will try to replace it with something more natural. I’m just not sure what exactly is in Lamictal that is preventing mood swings. Any help??

So I’m 17 and, after examining the symptoms and a few long talks with my bipolar friend, I’m almost positive I have the disorder. I really feel like I need to get help, but can’t bring myself to talk to my family. Is there any way I can get treatment without letting them know?

Before taking this label, shouldn’t a person explore all other avenues like excercise, talk therapy, thyroid check, sunshine etc? What else should one do? Taking on the label of mentally ill or under treatment for psychiatric condition is a big deal.

My bf recently started taking meds for bipolar, within the last two months, and now isn’t interested in sex at all…he says he’s not sure he even wants to date anymore…do you think this possibly could be because of the meds?!?!?

I have Bipolar type 2 and I’m not taking any medication for it and I’m not seeing a therapist. What are the long-term consequences for this?
